TCL recently welcomed three new employees to the college.

Mary Johnson has joined the school of Health Sciences as an adjunct medical coding instructor.
Since 2010, Mary has led the Health Information Management Program Department at Central Carolina Technical College in Sumter. She has 18 years of experience in education, has co-authored four medical coding textbooks and has presented at national conferences.
She is an active member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and in her church community. When she’s not working, you’ll find her gardening, traveling and “enjoying all of life’s little adventures.”
Paige Thompson has joined the school of Health Sciences as a patient care technician program director.

Paige has been with TCL since 2024, having worked as an allied health clinical coordinator and an adjunct instructor in the Kozak Office of Workforce Development.
A registered nurse with over 20 years of experience, Paige also holds a master’s degree in nursing education from Drexel University, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She spent the latter half of her career educating nurses and members of the patient care team.
Originally from the Upstate, Paige and her family moved to Beaufort in 2020 after her husband retired from the U.S. Air Force.
Chuck Waterfield has joined Facilities and Maintenance as a trade specialist IV.
Chuck has worked in facilities for 23 years, was a facility manager for seven years and is also a licensed plumber. He recently worked for USC Beaufort as a housing maintenance supervisor.
He and his wife moved to the Lowcountry from Connecticut.
