The Technical College of the Lowcountry held its annual commencement ceremony at 6 p.m., Friday, May 12 at the Henry C. Chambers Waterfront Park in Beaufort. <READ THE RECAP HERE>

CAP & GOWN INFORMATION

Cap and gown order deadline is March 23, 2023.

Student cap and gown orders may be placed with Herff Jones. Be sure to enter Technical College of the Lowcountry in the search for your school section. Fees must be paid (by credit or debit card only) when order is placed. Online orders will be shipped to the shipping address provided in your order.

**A limited number of caps & gowns may be available for purchase in the College Store after the March 23, 2023 deadline. Please order using the provided link prior to March 23, 2023 to avoid supply availability issues.**

COMMENCEMENT CEREMONY— 6 P.M., FRIDAY, MAY 12, 2023
Location: Henry C. Chambers Beaufort Waterfront Park Pavilion—700 Bay Street, Beaufort, SC.
(Note: The ceremony will only be delayed and/or cancelled in the case of severe weather. Any delays will be announced onsite. A limited number of ponchos will be on hand. We suggest that graduates and guests plan accordingly. Umbrellas are highly discouraged due to visibility.)

Graduates need to arrive: no later than 5pm (report to the check-in table to sign in and pick up your name card)

Parking: There will be designated satellite parking lots for graduates and guests. Please click here to view the Commencement Ceremony parking map. Shuttles will run from all parking lots (except the Waterfront parking lot).

Attire: Graduates should wear dark attire and dark shoes.

Seating: There will be designated seating for graduates, faculty, and VIP guests. Please note that guest seating is first come, first serve.

**Graduates will be required to walk on various surface types and up and down stairs. high heels are not recommended. **

If you, the graduate, or any guests will require special accommodations the day of the ceremony, please contact Bernadette Macchi at bmacchi@tcl.staging.wp.collegeinbound.com at least one week prior to the ceremony.


Commencement Student Speaker

You could have the honor of being the 2023 TCL student speaker!

The Technical College of the Lowcountry will salute its graduates at a ceremony on Friday, May 12, 2023, at the Beaufort Waterfront Park. The ceremony is a formal recognition of academic achievements and the special contributions graduating students will make to our TCL communities. As part of the program, one student will be selected to speak on behalf of his or her class.

If you would like to be considered for this special honor, please complete an application at the link below and return to Rodney E. Adams, Bldg. 2, Room 203 or Bernadette Macchi, Bldg. 2, Room 205.

HONOR REQUIREMENTS

Honors are awarded only to students in programs 30 semester hours or more in length. Students will graduate with academic honors based on the cumulative GPA.

Summa Cum Laude — 4.0 Cumulative GPA
Magna Cum Laude — 3.75 – 3.99 Cumulative GPA
Cum Laude — 3.50 – 3.74 Cumulative GPA
